Darcy joins us with 12 years of school‑based administrative assistant experience, bringing a strong foundation of organization, care, and commitment to students, families, and staff. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Darcy and her husband Steve are proud parents of three adult children, Zachery, Cayden, and Zoey, and are adjusting to life as new empty nesters. Their two Australian Shepherds, Jezzy and Nala, make sure the house still feels full of energy and love. 🌅 Darcy has lived on the north side of Lake Eau Claire for 22 years, where her family enjoys fishing, boating, jet skiing, swimming, and plenty of quiet time by the water. ✈️ Travel is a big part of Darcy’s life, especially with all three children spending much of the year in Montana. She loves both tropical adventures and mountain getaways, and is always excited to hear about amazing destinations others recommend. 💇‍♀️ Darcy is also a licensed cosmetologist with 20+ years of salon experience, an independent L’BRI consultant, and co‑owner of a trucking company that serves routes across the Midwest, East Coast, and southern states. 📣🐝 Welcome to Cadott, Jonah Hanson! We’re excited to welcome Jonah Hanson to the Cadott High School team for the upcoming school year! Jonah recently graduated from UW–La Crosse, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Mathematics Education and served as a team officer for the Club Baseball program. He completed his student teaching at Holmen High School this past semester and is eager to begin teaching Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 here at Cadott. ⚾🏀 A lifelong athlete, Jonah grew up playing baseball and basketball at Eau Claire North High School and has been connected to sports ever since. 🌲👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Outside of school, he enjoys spending time outdoors, hanging out with friends, and making memories with his family. Jonah shared that he is very excited to join the Cadott School District and is looking forward to seeing what this school year has in store. 🍿 Creative Snack Time at Hornet Care! The kids and staff at Hornet Care have been busy making fun, themed snacks each week! Students get to measure, mix, and serve their creations turning snack time into hands‑on learning and teamwork. 🚜🌾 Chippewa County Tractor Safety Course 🌾🚜 The Chippewa County Agricultural Instructors hosted this year’s county‑wide tractor safety course, welcoming thirty students from Bloomer, Cadott, Chippewa Falls, New Auburn, and Stanley‑Boyd. The 4th grade took a bus ride to Madison for a little adventure! Students visited The Capitol, The Wisconsin Veteran’s Museum, and The University Geology Museum. The zoo had to be cut from the trip due to weather, but the day was still an amazing experience from start to finish. 🚌 Thank you, 4th graders, for representing Cadott so positively, and a huge thank‑you to the parents, grandparents, and older siblings who joined us as chaperones. On Wednesday, over 200 students in grades 6–11 received invitations to a “mystery seminar” and arrived to discover a sweet surprise: an ice cream party! 🍦 This celebration recognized students who completed the year without any behavioral majors or minors. Their positive choices, responsibility, and contributions to our school community truly deserve recognition, and staff were excited to celebrate this achievement! We are proud of all students who work each day to learn, improve, and make positive choices. We look forward to continuing to recognize student growth and success in a variety of ways throughout the year next year. There was a special guest visitor in Ms. Sedivy’s classroom to teach our students about the moths their family has been raising. 🦋 Students learned about two endangered species, the Cecropia Moth and the Polyphemus Moth, and were fascinated by their size, colors, and life cycle. One of the highlights of the day was releasing two moths into the wild, giving students an exciting hands‑on learning experience and a chance to see these amazing creatures up close. 👏🏻 A big thank you to Kasey for sharing her knowledge and giving the class such a memorable experience! #CadottHORNETS

🚒🌳 A Fantastic Day for Cadott Second Graders! Cadott second graders had an amazing end‑of‑the‑year field trip to the Chippewa Fire Station #1, where they explored, learned, and enjoyed time with our local firefighters. Afterward, students headed to Irvine Park for an awesome picnic lunch with their loved ones! The perfect way to celebrate a great year together! 💛 #CadottHORNETS

After a storm rolled in and postponed the meet, the team returned yesterday to finish their events! 🎶 Concert Choir Shines at Trills and Thrills! The High School Concert Choir participated in the Valley Fair Trills and Thrills Music Festival on Friday, May 15th. The group performed two selections for a pair of seasoned adjudicators and delivered an outstanding performance. Out of 15 ensembles performing that day, Cadott was the 10th group to take the stage, and the first school of the day to earn the highest possible rating of SUPERIOR! ⭐️👏🏽 One judge even wrote on the comment form: “The best compliment I can give a group is that I wanted to be a part of it, and I did!” Congratulations to the Concert Choir on a fantastic performance and a fun day of rides and shopping afterward! 🌟🎢 #CadottHORNETS

Our Automotive students have been hard at work this spring, taking on real maintenance projects with their own vehicles. They’ve completed oil changes, tire rotations, balancing, safety inspections, brake work, and more, all while practicing the skills they’ve been building in class. 🔧🚘 Each student has also been working toward nine SNAP‑ON certifications, including digital multimeter use, battery/starting/charging systems, and hand tool safety. Our new workspace has been a game‑changer, allowing up to six cars in the shop on any given lab day. This week’s standout project: an Impala that came in for a simple $30 oil change… and turned into a full‑scale job. Students tackled brakes, front hub and wheel bearing assemblies, new shocks and struts on all four corners, and sway bar links. A huge confidence‑builder, and once it’s wrapped up, it’ll head out for an alignment. 🚗💪 #CadottHORNETS

🏃‍♂️🏅 Adaptive Track & Field Highlights! 🏅🏃‍♀️ Students recently participated in the Mighty Mustang Track and Field Day, hosted by the Menominee School District. They had the opportunity to take part in a variety of track and field events, showing determination, teamwork, and incredible effort throughout the day.
