📚🏆 Book Madness has a champion!
The elementary school library’s Book Madness season has officially wrapped up, and students crowned Dog Man: Big Jim Begins by Dav Pilkey as the #1 book of the year!
Mr. Kotek also had three students turn in perfect brackets, and these lucky readers each took home a new book to add to their home libraries.
🎉 Congratulations on your new reads! Keep turning those pages!

Another strong performance last week by the Cadott varsity baseball team with a 10–0 win over Whitehall in five innings. Aiden Rykal was dominant on the mound, allowing only two hits and recording six strikeouts in the complete‑game victory. 👏🏻⚾
Cadott’s defense stayed sharp behind him, with Joel Weeks throwing out a runner attempting to steal and Isaac Wellner making a solid play to turn a double play. At the plate, the Hornets put the ball in play and applied pressure with aggressive baserunning.
A solid all‑around game for the Hornets! 🐝

🥛🔍 Students in our Agricultural Processing II class have been busy identifying a variety of dairy and non‑dairy products. This hands‑on activity helps them build real‑world knowledge about food processing, product differences, and the role these items play in our everyday lives.
It’s a great blend of curiosity, critical thinking, and agricultural learning in action! 👏🏻

🔤✨ Word-Building Challenge in Mrs. Mengel’s Class!
Random letters and digraphs were written on sticky notes, and students had to create as many real words as they could using what was on the board. If a word wasn’t spelled correctly, those letters went right back into the letter bank for another team to try!
Teams raced to build the biggest word list, and things got so competitive that they ended up with a challenge round… which ended in a tie… which meant one more game to crown the final winner!
A highly engaging activity that had every student thinking, collaborating, and having fun with words. 💛📚

Step inside the greenhouse with Mr. Becker’s Horticulture & Landscape class! 🌱🌹🌻
Students spend most of their class time getting hands-on experience caring for plants, learning how they grow, and building real-world skills in horticulture. From vibrant flowers to unique houseplants, there’s always something growing!
Even better, many of these plants will be available to be purchased once they’re ready, so stay tuned! 👀
And while all this is happening, there’s something sweet in the air… maple syrup from sap that students collected in the school forest is boiling just outside the greenhouse doors. 🍁
Spring is in the air! 🌸🌷🪴

🍀 Lucky the Leprechaun Strikes Again!
Hornet Care set the perfect trap… but Lucky wasn’t fooled for a second. Instead, he slipped in, made a mischievous mess, left tiny green footprints, and even sprinkled a few surprises around the room, including chocolate coins! 🍫
Our Hornets had a blast discovering all the leprechaun mischief. What a fun way to celebrate a little St. Patrick’s Day magic. ☘️✨

🙌🏽 Mrs. Moldrem’s 6th grade PE class teamed up with Mr. Christenson’s high school PE students for a round of team games and it was incredible to watch.
With multiple grade levels playing side‑by‑side, the atmosphere was positive, welcoming, and full of genuine connection. 🧬 3D‑Printed DNA in 8th Grade Science!
Mrs. Pilgrim invited Mr. Kotek into her 8th grade science classes this week to teach students how to design a DNA helix in TinkerCad. After building their models digitally, students printed them in two colors using the library’s 3D printers.
Once the models were ready, Mrs. Pilgrim guided students through a deeper look at DNA structure. They labeled their rungs with base pairs (A‑T and C‑G) and used their printed helices to identify the sugar‑phosphate backbone along the sides.
To wrap it all up, classes explored how the double‑helix shape helps DNA stay stable and compact packing an incredible amount of genetic “instructions” into the tiny nucleus of a cell.
Way to go, scientists! 🔬👏🏻
