With multiple grade levels playing side‑by‑side, the atmosphere was positive, welcoming, and full of genuine connection. Our high school students led by example, showing fairness, encouragement, and true sportsmanship. Cadott choir students shined at the District Solo & Ensemble Festival on Saturday, February 21 at Fall Creek High School! 🎤🎶 A total of 31 choral students performed in 48 events, showcasing solos, musical theatre pieces, and small ensembles. Their hard work paid off with an impressive medal count: 3 bronze, 15 silver, and 30 gold! 🥇🥈🥉 Congratulations to all performers on an outstanding day of music and achievement! Our third graders rang in Chinese New Year with a challenge: using chopsticks to eat their lunch! 🥢 Students have been working on a mini‑unit in writing class all about Chinese New Year and are loving the chance to learn about a new culture in such an engaging way! 📚Congratulations to our Elementary Battle of the Books Teams! The library had two teams participate in WEMTA’s State Battle of the Books activities this year, and they represented the Hornets with pride! 🐝 Our girls’ team was our top‑scoring team and advanced to take the State Battle of the Books quiz, competing with schools from all across Wisconsin. Our boys’ team finished as the runner‑up, showing great teamwork, dedication, and a love of reading. 👏 Nice job to everyone who participated! Mr. Kotek is proud of your hard work. 🧬 3D‑Printed DNA in 8th Grade Science! Mrs. Pilgrim invited Mr. Kotek into her 8th grade science classes this week to teach students how to design a DNA helix in TinkerCad. After building their models digitally, students printed them in two colors using the library’s 3D printers. Once the models were ready, Mrs. Pilgrim guided students through a deeper look at DNA structure. They labeled their rungs with base pairs (A‑T and C‑G) and used their printed helices to identify the sugar‑phosphate backbone along the sides. To wrap it all up, classes explored how the double‑helix shape helps DNA stay stable and compact packing an incredible amount of genetic “instructions” into the tiny nucleus of a cell. 🏸 World Badminton Championship – High School Edition! What a showdown! After starting with nearly 30 student and staff pairs battling it out, the competition narrowed down to an epic finals match during resource: 🌟 Mr. Erickson & Mr. Christenson vs. Mr. Sirny & Mr. Hetke With eight total wins and the past four years straight at the top, Mr. Erickson and Mr. C entered the match as reigning champions… but this year, the streak was snapped! In a thrilling finals faceoff, Mr. Hetke and Mr. Sirny dethroned the four-year streak to claim the title. 👏🏻 Intense competition and tons of school spirit made this year’s championship one to remember. 🏀Two of Cadott’s Special Olympics athletes lit up the court at the regional basketball event at UW Stout! 👮‍♂️✨ “Chats with the Chief” Kicks Off! ✨👮‍♂️ Chief Bowman launched his new monthly series, “Chats with the Chief,” on Friday during seminar period! This event gives students the opportunity to connect with the Chief while learning about a variety of law enforcement topics. Students can ask questions, engage in open conversations, and gain insight into careers and community safety all while building meaningful relationships. 🫱🏽‍🫲🏼 Chief Bowman has been a fantastic addition to our school community, and we’re grateful for the time and commitment he continues to invest in our students. 🏀 The Cadott Girls Basketball team battled rival Stanley-Boyd on Thursday night, February 5, and came away with a big 53–47 win! #CadottHORNETS

On Wednesday, February 4th, five students traveled to UW–Stout to compete in a variety of events at FCCLA Regionals. They took on job interviews, teaching strategies, and even created an impressive project all about germs. 🔬 These girls put in countless hours preparing activities, portfolios, and presentations to showcase their dedication and it paid off. Each one of them earned a silver award and will be advancing to the State National Leadership Conference in April! 👏🏻 Keep up the great work, ladies! We are so proud of you! 🎉 #CadottHORNETS

🏀 The #CadottHORNETS Girls Basketball team played a phenomenal game against McDonnell on Friday! While they came up just short in a 44–45 battle, this was a HUGE improvement from their earlier matchup this season (49–72). These ladies showed incredible heart, grit, and teamwork from start to finish and should be extremely proud of their effort. 🧬Students in Ms. Pilgrim’s science class teamed up with Mr. Kotek in the middle/high school library makerspace for an exciting extension project: designing and 3D printing their own plant cells! Using TinkCAD, students created each part of the cell, then brought their designs to life with Bambu Studio and the makerspace printers. This project was a super fun way to go beyond the textbook and dive deeper into cell structure through hands‑on learning. Best of all, students walked away with their own 3D models they can use to study, share, and even teach others. Talk about learning in action! 🌱 #CadottHORNETS

🧠✨ Math in Motion! ✨🧠 With collaboration and communication skills becoming more essential than ever for our graduates, our math department has taken an exciting step forward. This year, students are diving into a collaborative, problem‑solving based curriculum and they’re thriving! From tackling challenges together to sharing strategies and building confidence, our students are hard at work making meaningful gains on their learning targets. Cadott second graders have been diving into stories about influential people who defy the odds and today, they got to meet someone from right here in our community who’s about to do just that! 👣 Local adventurer Sean Keck is preparing to hike the entire Appalachian Trail, starting in Georgia and ending all the way in Maine. That’s 2,200 miles of mountains, forests, and determination, a journey that will take about six months to complete. 🌄 Sean visited our second graders to talk about the power of a positive attitude and how you can achieve anything you set your mind to. 🌮 Spanish 1B Taste Test! Spanish 1B students are working through their Latin foods unit, and they had the chance to sample a variety of Mexican foods and soda. They tried traditional pork tamales, which many students had never experienced before. It was a fun and flavorful class for everyone! 😋 #CadottHORNETS

🎶 Cloverbelt All Conference Shoutout 🎶 A special congratulations goes out to the students who participated in this year’s Cloverbelt All Conference Music Festival, held this past Saturday at Regis High School.
