The Cadott Hornets Volleyball team has started the 2025 season off strong with many victories, including a sweep for their first conference game on Sept. 16 at home. The Hornets had two Saturday tournaments and multiple non-conference games in the early part of the season. While there have been clear successes early on, the team hasn’t been without hardships. Senior and captain Karlee Davis said, “The most challenging thing for our team is overcoming deficits and keeping a positive mindset while in those deficits.” A key part of the team overcoming difficult games has been freshman Kollyns Zastrow. Zastrow has been valuable in the Hornets’ wins, ranking third in kills and second in both digs and hitting percentage. As a freshman on varsity, she said, “It can be a little intimidating, but the seniors are all very welcoming.” Zastrow also said that the varsity team's new head coach, Kaitlyn Kozial, reminds the girls that “you have eight seconds to forget about your mistake and move on,” which helps the team during games and improves their ability to move forward. The Hornets play at home next on Sept. 30 against Fall Creek.
