The Cadott football team has started the season off to a strong start, with a 3-2 record. Last year, the team had a 1-8 record. This year, however, they have already broken last year's record with three wins in a row, followed by two tough losses. The team is young, with only five seniors this year, but despite its youth, the team boasts a high experience level. As a member of a large group of sophomores who had to step up this year, Jake Weeks said, “Everyone has grown well together.” Some underclassmen have taken on significant roles in the Hornets' success, including Weeks, who threw three touchdowns against Stanley-Boyd and continues to deliver every game. Taking on such a significant role on the team made Weeks “nervous, but I get calmer when the game gets going because I trust the guys around me.” Wish them luck for the rest of the season and on Sept. 26, when they play Cameron on the road.
