On April 4 the town of
Sigel voters voted 91-4 to establish a free high school to be located in
Cadott. School built on land donated by Mrs. Leonard Dibble. |

On January 16 the doors opened for the first
day of classes at Cadott High School. Twenty-six students
enrolled. |
| 1886 |
An annex was built onto the
new school for primary and intermediate grades. |
| 1887 |
On June 10 the first class graduated from
Cadott High School. The first graduates were Fred Munroe and Maggie
Sherman. |

1904 |
In the winter of this year
the "Annex" built in 1886 burned down. It was rebuilt in
1905. |

1906 |
Boys' and
girls' basketball programs at
Cadott were approved for a four year course. |
|
1909 |
A football program was
started at Cadott High School. |
|
1912 |
Cadott High School was accredited by the
state and thereby became a recognized institution of secondary education
under the newly established State Department of Public Instruction. |

1916 |
It was decided to build a
new school. Classes were held in the Presbyterian and German
Lutheran churches, the village hall and the Cunningham Block while
construction was under way. It was completed in the summer of 1917
and opened its doors that fall. |

1926 |
The first letters were awarded in boys'
basketball. |
|
1930 |
Cadott students published
the first yearbook, the "Saga". |
|
1931 |
An instrumental music department was
established in the high school for the first time. Three rehearsals
per week. |

1932 |
January 8, 1932 - Plans
were made to organize a high school band. |
|
1935 |
July 26 - vote 45-38 to build addition to
high school at special school meeting. On April 19 the students of
Cadott High School state a one day strike to protest the firing of
Principal Paul Rosenberg. |

1938 |
In this year, the modern
high school annex was built, providing a gymnasium, library, music room,
laboratory and cloak room. The first school bus was put into
operation in 1938 to transport high school pupils. Future Farmers of
America was organized for the first time. |

1941 |
A home economics department was established
at Cadott High 'School. |
|
1950 |
A driver education course
was instituted as part of the high school curriculum. A complete
physical education program was also established to qualify the school for
the "integrated" rating by the state. |

1954 |
An independent building to partially house
elementary school students was built to relieve crowded conditions at the
high school building. The school hot lunch program was started on
November 5th. |

1955 |
The school board purchased
3.5 acres north of Stanley Street for $2,500 for additional playground
area and a future building site. Part of the area was used for a
practice football field and was commonly known to all students as the
"goat pasture". Purchase of the Jake Rice property gave
the school access to all property between Stanley Street and Mills Street
from Highway 27 west to the alley east of Main Street. Most of the
1961 high school was built on this property. |

Ground was broken for the
new high school on September 16. |

1973 |
The Mueller property of 69
acres was purchased, this includes all land east of Highway 27 from Yellow
River to the railroad tracks. This purchase provided space for the
construction of a completely independent elementary building and a fine
athletic and physical education facility for the high school, consisting
of a 400 meter surfaced track, field event areas south to the tracks and
north to the river, a football field with lights, practice fields, and
softball diamond. |

Earl and Eunice Liddell donated 160 acres to
be used for the school forest. |

1978 |
The new elementary school
opened. |

1980 |
Cadott graduates its largest class in
history. One hundred eight seniors received diplomas at graduation. |
|
1982 |
Cadott High School becomes
a member of the School Evaluation Consortium, a K-12 organization for
evaluating school programs. |

1988 |
An addition was which included several
classrooms and office space on the North end of the building along with
the remodeling to the commons. |
|
1990 |
The bus garage was added. |

Another addition was added to the South end
of the building including several classrooms. The small gym was also
added. |
| 1994 |
Eunice Liddell donated
$100,000 for school forest improvements and environmental education
materials. |
| 1996 |
Completion of a 44x76 foot environmental
education building at the school forest along with further trail
development. |
| 2000 |
At the November 7th
election the community approved a $3,825,000 referendum for a
building/remodeling project. The army reserve completed installation
of a bridge crossing Drywood Creek in the school forest allowing access to
the remaining 80 acres of land. |
| 2001 |
Excavation began on April 17th
for the new
high school addition. The construction project was completed in December 2002. |
